Haworth, New Jersey, a small community in Northeast Bergen County, is just 2.0 square miles in size. The Borough was incorporated in 1904, and since then has grown from a farming community to a suburban community. It is bordered by the towns of Demarest, Closter, Oradell, and Dumont. It has a population of about 3500 and is located about 45 minutes from midtown Manhattan.

Volunteers help organize Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Soccer, Baseball (Little League, Knickerbocker, Girl's Softball and T-Ball) and Basketball for children. Some of the adult organizations in town include the Newcomer's and Friends Club, the Democratic Club, the Republican Club, the Senior Citizens Club, American Legion, Softball Association, Friends of the Library, Home and School Association, and Women's Club. Town committees also benefit from the enthusastic help of volunteers: Shade Tree Committee, Recreation Commission, Ambulance Corps, Fire Company, Planning and Zoning Boards and others.
Haworth retains its small town spirit. Each Halloween, a "Ragamuffin Parade" parades down Haworth Avenue to the school where the children show off their costumes. The Baseball season begins with a parade to Memorial Field, one of the town's recreational fields.

Downtown Haworth consists of several stores, two banks, a Pharmacy, two Hair Salons, Nail Salon and a Post Office. Across from the convenience store is the picnic area where town residents and children often eat lunch. Residents often shop in nearby Closter or Cresskill.

The streets are tree-lined and there are parks, four clay tennis courts, recreational fields, a municipal pool and Platform Tennis Club. Two golf courses add to the bucolic feeling in town: the White Beeches Golf and Country Club and the Haworth Golf and Tennis Club.

The Oradell Reservoir provide beautiful views on the Western border of the town. United Water Company runs the Haworth Water Treatment Plant located on Lake Shore Drive.

The public school is the Haworth Elementary School for students from Kindergarten through eight grade. It has about 520 students and is located at 205 Valley Road, Haworth, NJ.

High School Students from Haworth attend Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest, The Northern Valley School District is comprised of two high schools (Grades 9-12) and has a student population of about 2500. It has an excellent curriculum with many Advanced Placement courses. It has been designated a one of the nation's "Blue Ribbon Schools."
